murray river life

about tess

Tess has worked in the media industry for seven years, starting with Messenger newspapers in Adelaide, following the completion of her journalism degree at the University of South Australia. After travelling overseas for a year in 2002, Tess returned to her home region – the Barossa Valley – and started working for The Bunyip newspaper in Gawler. While there she was quickly elevated to the role of acting editor on several occasions and in September 2006 was offered the editor position at The Loxton News.

Six months pregnant with her second child at the time, Tess and her family made the move to the Riverland where they were warmly welcomed by the local community. Late last year Tess contacted Tim Jackson about a move into public relations and communications and the rest is history.

Tess is married to Dan – a stay-at-home dad and avid Geelong fan – and they have two sons – Tom, 3, and Jack, 1. A sucker for punishment, Tess is currently also undertaking a graduate diploma in public relations through the University of SA. When she’s not working, studying or changing nappies, she enjoys nothing more than kicking back with a good book or newspaper, a vodka and tonic and a handful of almonds.

I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade… And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.”
Ron White (Comedian)
